Philippines November Exports Down 11.9% On Year

(RTTNews) - Total exports from the Philippines decreased in value in November by 12.0 percent from October and by 11.9 percent from one year ago.

The National Statistics Office reported Tuesday that the total value of exports was US$3.49 billion, down from October’s overall value of 3.971 billion.

Exports of electronics products, which represent nearly 58 percent of Philippines shipments abroad, declined 17.0 percent from November 2007 to $2.02 billion.

Electronics exports were down 13.6 percent from October 2008.
Overall manufactured goods exports, which make up nearly 87 percent of the Philippines exports, declined 9.2 percent on year. Agricultural product exports decreased 9.1 percent on year.

Exports to the United States, the Philippines largest trading partner, were down 18.8 percent on year.
