Malaysia’s Trade Surplus Expands In November

(RTTNews) - Wednesday, a preliminary report by the Department of Statistics Malaysia said the country recorded a trade surplus of MYR11.49 billion in November. In October, the trade surplus was MYR9.62 billion.

Exports fell 4.9% year-on-year in November to MYR51.79 billion. Imports dropped 8.6% to MYR40.29 billion.

The report said the fall in exports was mainly due to a decline in exports of electrical and electronic products, refined petroleum products, palm oil, chemicals and its products, crude rubber along with iron and steel products.

Month-on-month, exports dipped 3.1%, while imports were down 8.1% in November.

In the first eleven months of the year, exports rose 12.1%, while imports increased 5.9%.
