German Unemployment Rises More Than Expected In December

(RTTNews) - The number unemployed in Germany rose seasonally adjusted 18,000 in December, the Federal Labor Agency reported Wednesday. The number exceeded the expected figure of 10,000. At the same time, the labor office revised November’s decrease to 4,000 from 10,000 reported initially.

The adjusted jobless rate was 7.6% in December, unchanged since September 2008. The jobless rate for November was revised up to 7.6% from an initial estimate of 7.5%.
