Gains By Energy Stocks Contribute To Initial Upward Move On Wall Street - U.S. Commentary

(RTTNews) - Stocks showed a strong upward move at the start of trading on Tuesday, with the major averages moving back to the upside after ending the previous session in the red. Strength among energy stocks contributed to the initial rally.

With energy prices moving higher, oil service and natural gas stocks are turning in some of the market’s best performances in early trading. Significant strength has also emerged among financial, real estate, and transportation stocks.

Nonetheless, buying interest waned not lot after the open, limiting the upside for the markets. Some traders are staying on the sidelines ahead of the release of some key economic data.

The major averages have moved roughly sideways in the past few minutes, hovering firmly in positive territory. The Dow is currently up 71.05 at 9,023.94, the Nasdaq is up 13.60 at 1,641.63 and the S&P 500 is up 9.09 at 936.54.
