French December Consumer Confidence Drops To -44

(RTTNews) - France’s seasonally adjusted consumer confidence indicator dropped to minus 44 in December from minus 43 in November, the statistical office INSEE said Tuesday. The reading was in line with economists’ expectations.

According to the INSEE, in December, past and expected living standards indicators slightly went down. Households were more pessimistic about their future financial position, while their opinion concerning their past financial position kept unchanged.

The balance on the timeliness of making major purchases increased but remained very low. Households’ opinion about future unemployment figures continued to increase.
