Swiss Consumer Price Inflation Slows More Than Expected
(RTTNews) - Tuesday, the Federal Statistical Office said Swiss annual inflation slowed to 1.5% in November from 2.6% in October. The November rate was the slowest since October 2007. Economists had expected the inflation rate to ease to just 2%.
Month-on-month, consumer prices dropped 0.7% in November, while economists were looking for a 0.2% fall. Monthly decline was driven by lower oil prices. Transport cost slid 3.5% and housing and energy charges were down 0.6%.
