Spanish Unemployment Rises In November

(RTTNews) - Spain’s registered unemployment rose 171,243 people or 6% to 2,989,269 in November, the Labor Ministry said Tuesday. This is for the eighth straight month the number of unemployed is increasing. At its current level, the total number of unemployed recorded a 12-year high.

The labor ministry said unemployment has risen in all sectors with services sector marking the largest increase of 97,697 people or 5.9%. Joblessness in the construction sector rose 40,453 and climbed 22,717 in the mining sector.

By gender, male unemployment stood at 1,447,780 and the female unemployed accounted for 1,541,489.
