German Retail Sales Turnover Declines in October
(RTTNews) - Monday, the German Federal Statistical Office announced that the retail trade turnover in real terms declined 1.5% year-over-year in October, in contrast to the 2.4% rise recorded in the previous month. Economists’ were looking for an increase of 0.5%. In nominal terms, retail sales were up 0.9%.
Month-on-month, the retail trade turnover dropped a seasonally and working day adjusted 1.6% in real terms, while it dipped 1.7% in nominal terms.
For the first ten months of the year, the retail trade turnover decreased 0.4% in real terms and 2.3% rise in nominal terms compared to the same period in previous year.
