Singapore’s Domestic, Foreign Wholesale Trade Rises In Q3
(RTTNews) - Friday, a report by Singapore’s Department Of Statistics said domestic wholesale trade at current prices rose 9% sequentially in the third quarter. Excluding petroleum, wholesale trade rose 5.6%. Meanwhile, foreign wholesale trade also increased in this period.
During the three months period ending September, domestic wholesale trade increased 4.7% on a seasonally adjusted basis, and excluding petroleum, sales were up 2.8%.
Year-on-year, domestic wholesale trade rose 25.3% in the third quarter. Excluding petroleum, sales increased 7.4%.
Removing the price effects, the wholesale trade declined 1.6% year-on-year in the third quarter, but rose 5.6% when compared with the second quarter.
Meanwhile, foreign wholesale trade at current prices rose 2.1% sequentially in the third quarter, and excluding petroleum sales, increased 5.2%. Seasonally adjusted, foreign sales remained at the same level as the previous quarter.
On a yearly basis, foreign wholesale trade was up 23.5%, and excluding petroleum sales, grew 12.9%.
Stripping the price effects, the foreign wholesale trade was up 1.9% sequentially in third quarter and rose 0.4% compared to the corresponding period in previous year.
