Japan Housing Starts, Construction Orders Rise in September
(RTTNews) - Friday, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport revealed in a report that housing starts increased 54.2% year-on-year in September, better than the 53.6% recorded in the previous month. Economists had expected for an increase of 52%.
In September, the annualized housing starts decreased to 1.126 million units on a seasonally adjusted basis from 1.130 million units in August. Economists had predicted for a number of 1.109 million units.
Meanwhile, construction orders increased 10.3% year-on-year in September, in contrast to a 0.3% fall seen in the preceding month.
