German Retail Trade Turnover Rises in September
(RTTNews) - Friday, Germany’s Federal Statistical Office announced that retail trade turnover in real terms increased 1.2% year-over-year in September, in contrast to a 3.3% fall recorded in August. Nominally, it rose 4.1%.
On a monthly basis, retail sales dropped 2.3% in real terms after rising 1.9% in the preceding month. Economists had predicted for a decrease of 1%. At the same time, retail sales in nominal terms decreased 2.5%.
For the first nine months of the year, retail sales dipped real 0.5% over a year ago. During the same period, retail sales rose 2.4% in nominal terms.
