Australia Inflation Report Tops Aussie-NZ Economic Docket
(RTTNews) - A report on inflation in Australia leads Wednesday’s economic data calendar for the Aussie-NZ region.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics releases its data on third quarter consumer prices at 00:30 GMT. For the year through the 2nd (June) quarter, Australia’s inflation rate was pegged at 4.5 percent, and in Reserve Bank of Australia board minutes released Tuesday, the RBA said it expected CPI to rise to just over 5 percent before easing in 2009.
Consumer prices for the June quarter rose 1.5 percent above their level in the preceding quarter.
Across the Tasman, Statistics New Zealand issues its report on new visitor arrivals for September at 21:45 GMT. The August report showed a 0.5 percent decline in visitor arrivals on month.
