Japan August Monetary Base -0.2% On Year
(RTTNews) - Japan’s monetary base declined 0.2 percent on year in August, the Bank of Japan said on Tuesday, standing at 87.94 trillion yen outstanding after a 0.7 percent annual decline in July.
Banknotes in circulation were up 0.9 percent, while coins in circulation added 0.7 percent. Current account balances fell 10.1 percent and reserve balances lost 9.4 percent.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the monetary base was up 5.7 percent on year at 88.31 trillion yen outstanding.
