New Zealand July Food Prices Up 0.6% On Month
(RTTNews) - Food prices in New Zealand rose 0.6 percent in July when compared to the month before.
Statistics NZ reported Monday that the on-month increase was led by fruits and vegetables, which increased 3.6 percent from June. Grocery foods rose 0.5 percent and restaurant and ready-to-eat food prices were up 0.6 percent.
The meat, poultry and fish category saw a price decline of 1.0 percent.
Food prices in July were 7.6 percent higher than their level of July 2007. All five sub-groups posted increases for the full year.
