ISM Manufacturing Index Edges Up To 50.2 In June

(RTTNews) - Activity in the manufacturing sector unexpectedly expanded in the month of June, according to a report released by the Institute for Supply Management on Tuesday, with the index of activity in the sector edging above the key 50 level.

The ISM said that its purchasing managers index rose to 50.2 in June from 49.6 in May, with a reading above 50 indicating an expansion in the sector. Economists had been expecting the index to slip to a reading of 48.6.
