I am excited about this card. I made more than a few mistakes as an 18 year old college student. Buying 50 inch Tv’s and being an all around irresponsible kid. This is my chance to get back on track and possibly better myself going into the future. I’m glad I got this opportunity.

I read your review and thought I should give it a shot after having my bankruptcy discharged. I really appreciated the diagrams in your review to show the different types of cards and the fees that are assessed.

I applied for the card, I’m not keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks!

Many mistakes as a kid left me with horrible credit. Aplication says it has been approved.. I hope it is true, talk about a struggle to build credit when you made dumb mistakes as a kid….

I think the whole credit score process is a joke – I have had at least 4 houses in which I paid on time for 20 years – my last house I had for 5 yrs with a 3k a month mortgage – I had some dumb medical bills that did not get paid – with amounts like 2-3 hundred dollars – I make 200k a year – and guess what – I apply for an orchard credit card and get $300 – whoopee – When I was in college with no job I got 2 cards with 2k each..

Whats up America

This credit card is PERFECT for people with no credit or trying to rebuild credit in my case ive never had a credit card or credit, credit cards never interested me i turned down my bank for years with credit card offers, but one day i decided to start looking for what credit cards had the best offers and this card has to be one of them i love it great customer service, and when you apply for this card and receive it make an online profile at orchardbank.com and you can keep a track of all your transactions and payments for fee no fees, this card has helped me get two credit cards with a larger credit limit at both of my banks.

The orchard bank secured card is good for building credit- until you need to cancel it. They promise you will get your deposit back within 30 days of canceling the card, but it took 3 months and MANY angry phone calls to get them to send my money! I had about 10 customer service representatives promise me that they were absolutely positive that my check had been mailed out. What a hassle!

I will never deal with HSBC ever again! They dropped my account because I didn’t use it enough and I don’t maintain a balance or pay interest. I was not making money for them so I got dumped!

No sweat…. I use my Discover, Visa and AMEX cards which give me MORE in rewards and have better customer service.

I still have an HSBC partnered card I use very often at the home improvement store and get annual rewards and rebates and spseial discounts for using it. It won’t be long before HSBC realizes they aren’t making anything off of me there either so I’ll just wait for that show to drop.

Bottom line…. If you pay your monthly statement every month and you don’t accrue interest charges, HSBC want’s nothing to do with you! Read all these “get credit now” offers first and make sure HSBC isn’t tied to them! HSB FEE ought to be their name! Look at the annual fee schedule and you’ll see what I mean!

Sorry HSBC…. you made the decision, not I!

Good for you David! Now… cut up that HSBC card and use the others. Before long, they will realize you aren’t using the card anymore and drop you. It won’t impact your credit score.

If HSBC helps some get their credit worthiness up and improves their scores… great! As soon as you can move up to a Discover, Visa or AMEX, stop using HSBC ASAP!

OK… so you make $200K a year! What do your liabilities come to…. $190K a year?

I too had more cards with higher limits when I was a disastrous risk. Now that I have a six figure bottom line and no debt, they don’t even send me unsolicited cards anymore.

That’s what makes America work…. high risks, high interest debts! Suckers paying 29% and minimum payments is what they’re really after!
