European Economics Preview: German Retail Sales Data Due
(RTTNews) - Thursday, major reports due for the day include German retail sales and Eurozone unemployment.
At 2.00am ET, the Federal Statistical Office is slated to issue the German retail sales report for August. Economists forecast retail sales to rise 0.2% month-on-month in August, following a 0.7% rise in July.
At 3.30am ET, Switzerland’s SVME Purchasing Managers Index is due. The index reading is seen at 51 in September, up from 50.2 in August.
A preliminary report for Italian manufacturing PMI is due at 3.45am ET. The Italian manufacturing PMI is forecast to rise to 45.2 in September from 44.2 last month. Thereafter, final PMI reports are due from France, Germany and Eurozone.
At 4.30am ET, BoE credit conditions survey and British CIPS manufacturing PMI reports are due. The manufacturing PMI is expected to rise to 50.2 in September from 49.7 last month.
At 5.00am ET, the Eurostat is slated to release the unemployment data for August. Eurozone’s jobless rate is forecast to rise to 9.6% in August from 9.5% in July.
