Iran Replaces The US Dollar With The Euro…And So It Begins

By FocalEquity on September 22, 2009 | More Posts By FocalEquity | Author's Website

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has ordered the replacement of the US dollar by the euro in the country’s foreign exchange accounts.

The September 12 edict was issued following a decision by the trustees of the country’s foreign reserves, Mehr News Agency reported.

Earlier, the Islamic Republic of Iran had announced that the euro would replace the greenback in the country’s oil transactions. Iran has called on other OPEC members to ditch the sinking dollar in favor of the more credible euro.

Following the switch, the interest rate for the facilities provided from the Foreign Exchange Reserves will be reduced from12 to 5 percent.

Since being introduced by the European Union, the euro has gained popularity internationally and there are now more euros in circulation than the dollar.

The move will also help decouple Iran from the US banking system.

Who is next? And what will be the USA’s retaliation?

Watch this fad catch on now. The dam has burst.

It is rare to have so many wars packed so closely together. If we do invade Iran it wont be for a few years. All those USians first need to forget about Iraq, then there needs to be a period of economic prosperity. After that, I think it would be safe to expect another war.

As an American,I’m very ashamed over the actions of my nation relating to our hostile, bullying foreign affairs and especially to the unlimited funding and tolerance of the terrorist state of Israel.
I say let the dollar die, then we can get on with forming a more perfect union and begin again.
Hopefully there will be enough people with enough outrage that we can accomplish this.
Watch how the Iranian’s are suddenly affected by mysterious undersea cables being cut.
We did the earlier sabotage and that is proof of our desperation for them to keep selling oil in dollars.

If being an American means going into a sovereign nation and slaughtering innocent civilians and trying to force our ways on another country…. count me out as a “good American”. This country is run by tyrants and it is shameful. No, I am not a proud American. I am now ashamed of this country full of bullies.

9/11 was an inside job. As a result we are slowly being stripped of our liberties. You need to wake the hell up, Matt.

And when this country does collapse, everyone who’s left inside will have to fight each other like starving rats just to survive. Not even totalitarian martial law can save this country from anarchy, belligerent hoodlums and chaos.

yet again the famous goldsmith has torn a nation and people apart with his usury based fractional reserve banking system.

the last time they did something like this on this scale was in Germany in the 1920’s, Germany went from being a forward looking technologicaly advanced democracy into facist state.

Ha, you are no American. You are a progressive radical that seeks to change America from what made it great.

I agree with the fact we should not cater to all and try to spread any democracy, we are not a democracy, we are a constitutional republic.

The Constitution and the declaration of independence set us free from the very immoral and corrupt countries you would have us buddy up with again. You might be proud of O that Khadafi, Chavez and other evil politicians are giving praises to Obamasin, but the majority are not.

“MOre perfect union,” get out of here with that crap and try reading the constitution and declaration of independence you smoe…

I agree we are saturated with corrupt political leaders from all parties, but the answer is not turning America into the UK or France. If you want a stronger form of socialism Move there and dont let the door hit you in your lazy entitlement welfare azz, ok.. thanks

To criticize one’s country is not unpatriotic. In fact, if those who paid attention, had stood up to our on-the-take polticans and, especially, to THE Manchurian Candidate, If Americans really paid attention instead of leaving it all to the crooks, we would not be ready to be flushed.

Have no doubt, Americans, life will change, dracticly, for most, soon and it will be because you allowed your politicians free reign and allowed this all to happen. Blame no one but ourselves.

And yes, for the murdering, plundering abuse of the world, I apologize.

Americans owed it to themselves and the world to criticize their government when it was wrong but few had the knowledge, intelligence, foresight or gonads.

Good luck to us all. We’re going to need it.

Ignorance is bliss.

He does not realize that when the USD falls the euro will not stand. It is a fake currecy too. People do not see this? When america as a country falls, the people in power will just move to parasitize off another country or union (EU).
The Only solution is to create a currency based on overall output of a country (energy kHz/Hour). Everything can be converted to that. Especially national resources. That way the countries with reserves like Russia and Canada will have a very good currency.

VERY good point Fabian! These unrepentant, wallet lifting swindlers would, in China, find themselves kneeling in front of a guy with a rifle pointed at the back of their heads and executed with a single bullet. The only saving grace for the Euro are those pesky Germans who know very well just WHO those swindlers are, even though to name them means a jail sentence.

Sorry, but IIRC the yuan is still pegged to the US dollar, though not as tightly as a few years ago. And the euro is as much a fiat currency as the dollar, plus I wouldn’t be surprised if the EU falls apart in the near future. Perhaps the Swiss franc would be the best choice.

I’m American and I’m not ashamed at all. After all, I didn’t have anything to do with any of it.

Besides, for a person to associate himself with the nation he was randomly set down in is stupid; the flag you have is stamped on you at birth. I would be ashamed if I were an immigrant. Imagine coming to this evil nation because you wanted a piece of the houses, cars, and strip malls.

The best thing to do now is have a plan and be ready to go. It’s difficult to formulate, expensive, and takes time. If you haven’t done anything yet American, you better get moving.

Your days are numbered.

Saudi Arabia ALONE has 100x more reserves than the US. Christ, sometimes I think people just make stuff up out of thin air for no other reason than just to hear themselves blather on…

I don’t blame the Iranians; they’re just trying to protect themselves from financial loss. The FED is printing trillions of dollars out of thin air and the dollar’s value is dropping like a lead balloon as a result of that. Since the FED was created in 1913, the dollar has lost over 97% of its purchasing power. However, I must say that all governments are the same everywhere, at any point in history. This is my working definition of government: the most ingenious and worst form of legalized theft, plunder, tyranny and brute force that was ever devised by man. Please, feel free to quote me. Warm wishes to all!

Sanctions against Iran are useless since Europeans has no ethics when they smell money. The only one is loosing is us. Just to be Israel slave has no end in that region. Iranian government is not a legitimate government. Ahmadi nejad is not popular. It is the time to help Iranian people to take over the situation. But this is not happening because Israelis love Ahmadi nejad. Without him how they rip off American tax payers?

If you can, please store food, drink and supplies, at least a year’s worth. Rotate it so it doesn’t go bad.

You buy car insurance, house insurance, life insurance. Consider it insurance.

War? Thats the real reason for the Iraq War GWII,the series that wont get cancelled even with low ratings. Saddam refused to take US dollars anymore. He went to Euro’s.
War? At this point, I dont think they should wage full scale war.
The US Military should go into the richest Middle Eastern & Asian Cities and go house to house at gunpoint with mortgage balances and credit cards of the American public and make the Arabs & richest more eastern Asians pay them all off.
Then we burn 2/3rds of the printed money over a course of a couple years.
We also must legalize, but regulate and tax marijuana.
The weed tax will pay for social security and the type of national medical plan Obomo wants.

War with Iran is inevitable. The MSM is beating the drums of war with Iran louder than ever before.

Here are some things to consider before we go to war:

1.) Iran is not Nazi Germany

2.) Iran does not have nuclear weapons

3.) Iran was fully complicit with the NPT and IAEA for most of its 40 year history until the axis of evil speech.

3.) Iran is not a threat to the US

4.) Iran has no links to Al Quada or 911.

5.) Iran is in the midst of an economic crisis. Our anti Iranian rhetoric emboldens Iran citizens to follow Ahmadinejad who is otherwise unpopular.

6.) Iran is willing to discuss with the US the prospect of helping Iraq with stability

7.) Iran is more than willing to continue with full compliance with the NPT and IAEA.

8.) Iran rightly wonders why the US increases its own nuclear program to Cold War levels while condeming even the prospect of a nuclear Iran.

9.) Iran wonders why Saudi Arabia, a natural enemy, is allowed a nuclear program while its own nuclear program is condemned

10.) Iran wonders why we give sweetheart deals to India that will increase its own arsenal while condemning Iran’
