European Economics Preview: Switzerland’s GDP Forecast Due

(RTTNews) - Tuesday, the Switzerland’s economic forecast is the only main statistical report expected from Europe.

At 1.45am ET, the Switzerland’s GDP forecast for 2009 is due from the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs or SECO.

The Statistics Finland is set to issue labor force survey results for August at 2.00am ET. The jobless rate is seen at 8.3% in August, up from 7.7% in July.

Thereafter, the Federal Customs Administration is slated to issue Switzerland’s external trade balance for August. The trade surplus totaled CHF 2.3 billion in July.

At 3.30am ET, Danish consumer sentiment survey results are due from Statistics Denmark. The index is forecast to rise to minus 2 in September from minus 2.6 in August.

At 5.00am ET, the Italian unemployment rate is due. Economists forecast the jobless rate to rise to 7.7% in the second quarter from 7.3% in the prior quarter.
