Finnish CPI Inflation Stable At 4.7% in September
(RTTNews) - Tuesday, a report by Statistics Finland said consumer price annual inflation remained stable at 4.7% in September compared with August. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.5%.
The annual rise in consumer prices was mainly due to price rises in food and housing. Food prices were up due to rise in prices of diary products and meat and cereals, while housing costs increased on higher energy prices, rents and interest rates. However, prices of passenger cars and telephones charges declined.
In September, the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices or HICP increased 4.7% year-on-year and 0.6% on a monthly basis. The HICP for the EMU countries rose 3.6% in September from the previous year.
Further, the net price index in September climbed 5.1% annually, up from August’s 5%. On a monthly basis, the indicator rose 0.5%.
