Pennies For Politicians (Following “Cash For Clunkers”)

By David Spurr on August 4, 2009 | More Posts By David Spurr | Author's Website

I think we need to come up with program to recycle “USED” Politicians, maybe something like “Pennies for Politicians”. We could reduce all their compensation and benefits to the poverty level while seeking out the best and the brightest from our nation’s universities to run the country.

Really, we’re taking cars that used to run and making them in-operable so that we can increase demand to help countries that export commodities. Is this really the best use of our capital? Why doesn’t the government just keep printing money to create and expand markets for everything? I’m sure China has been leaning on the boys in Washington, asking them to do something to stimulate demand for the locals in China. What’s Washington’s alternative? If they don’t play ball, China goes home with their bat and balls - game over USA.

China is our daddy - like it or not. They keep us in business. They dictate policy in this country now. Politicians are really just figureheads, appearing to have some element of control. Everything the USA does now has to be done with China in mind. If they stop buying our bonds and the US Dollar, then we go to hyper-inflation and 15% interest rates.

“OK China….whatever you say”….sell more cars……”OK”….you got it. It makes the “Pennies for Politicians” program seem all the more viable.
