Cramer Goes Head To Head With Jon Stewart

By David Spurr on March 15, 2009 | More Posts By David Spurr | Author's Website

I love Jon Stewart in these clips. Originally, Stewart did a segment that basically took apart CNBC and was very critical of their financial reporting. I had posted the clip earlier on this blog. I’ll post it here again - in case you missed it. You need to watch the earlier post, to understand what’s going on with the Cramer vs Stewart head to head.

Let’s face it. Stewart is absolutely right. Millions of Americans, not terribly knowledgeable about the markets and investments, tune into CNBC to get their financial news. There is not a tremendous amount of competition. Bloomberg is the only other large business news media station on television. I commend Cramer for coming onto the Stewart show to discuss the issues. It’s pretty obvious though that Cramers’s days - with regard to having any shred of respectability - are certainly limited.

The nature of CNBC needs to change. The networks should provide honest unbiased information. CNBC always has a “bullish” slant. That’s because it sells. Millions of Americans don’t want to listen to gloom and doom stories about the economy and the markets. Instead, they want to hear about how good things are going to be or could get, so that their 401k’s will grow.

Unfortunately, the opposite has happened. The truth being that the markets and the economy is in a terrible tailspin and American have been FOOLISH to keep their money invested - BUY and HOLD with their eyes closed to the truth. WAKE UP Americans. It’s a new day. It’s a day of each person accepting financial responsibility for his/her own actions and assets.
