British Airways Visa Credit Card – Get 100,000 Bonus Avios Points Here!
Review of: British Airways Visa Signature Card - 100,000 BA Miles LIMITED TIME OFFER
Our Verdict:

4.8/5 Stars
For a very limited time, British Airways, together with Chase (NYSE:JPM), are offering an unbeatable offer for new US sign-ups to their British Airways Visa Signature Card. In what could be the most attractive credit card bonus this year, they are offering a bonus consisting of up to… not one, but TWO round-trip economy class air tickets from North America to Europe or ONE round-trip Busisness class ticket from New York to London. To be approved for this Visa (NYSE:V) card, you need good to excellent credit score.
This offer will end on the 7th of June apply now to avoid disappointment.
Features of the British Airways Visa Signature Card
New sign-ups can receive up to 100,000 bonus British Airways Avios Points: 50,000 bonus Avios points after your first purchase, 25,000 Avios when you spend $10,000 within the first year, and an extra 25,000 bonus Avios points after spending another $10,000 during the first 12 months of cardmembership.
These 100k Avios points are sufficient to redeem two free round-trip flights from the US to their ‘Europe Zone 1′ destinations, including Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland, and UK. Here’s the catch: You’ll have to fork out any taxes, fees and surcharges from your own pocket, and flights are subject to availability.
Every calendar year, you’ll receive a redemption ticket for a companion that’s valid for two years if you spend $30,000 on your British Airways Visa card annually. Watch out! After reading the fine print, I found out that first of all, you must be a member of the BA Executive Club (its frequent flyer program), which isn’t a problem as you’ll automatically be enrolled as a member when you sign up for this card, and secondly, this companion ticket can only be used if you have used your reward Avios points to redeem for a flight on the main British Airways flight (not on codeshare, franchise or alliance airlines), and that both the cardholder and the companion must travel together on the same outbound and return flight, and they must be booked at the same time. It’s also “subject to availability”.
You’ll also earn 2.5 Avios points per $1 spent on British Airways purchases and 1.25 Avios per $1 spent on all other purchases. You can even earn Avios when you use this card to pay your recurring monthly bills like internet or utility bills. There isn’t any limit to the amount of Avios points you can earn. Avios points can be redeemed for flights on British Airways, partner airlines (including American Airlines) or flight upgrades.
Plus, there is no foreign transaction fee when you use your British Airways Visa card to make purchases when overseas.
Our Verdict:

4.8/5 Stars
The annual fee of this card is $95, and considering the lucrative bonus points of up to 2 free transatlantic tickets, it is truly a hard-to-come-by deal for people who already fly with British Airways, or people who intend to fly to Europe in the future and would like to make use of the 2 free return tickets that can be redeemed with the 100,000 Avios points signing bonus.
The APR on purchases and balance transfers is 15.24%, and if you’re ever late in one payment, the APR will be 29.99%. To avoid paying any interest, pay your balance in full each month and on time.
This offer will end on the 7th of June apply now to avoid disappointment.
Do you know if those bonus miles (that you get when you sign up) expire?
I’ve been looking into this but I haven’t been able to find an answer… is it 2 free round trip tickets to Europe for 100,000 miles? If it is, my wife and I are going to Europe!
My understanding is that BA miles don’t expire so long as you are active (I think by acquiring new miles, possibly spending old ones) over the membership year. I have been a member of the executive club for several years, and I’ve never had my miles taken away.
For Europe Zone 1, a roundtrip ticket from the US costs 50,000 miles. So, yes, it’s two roundtrip tickets. (But note that some places — Spain, Portugal, eastern Europe) require 60,000 and perhaps more.
Also note that it’s not exactly a free roundtrip ticket. The fees get up there. Still a huge savings, but it will cost you.
What are the taxes and fees roughly for flying overseas to somewhere like France if I get this card?
How much are the taxes and fees roughly for flying somewhere like France or the UK?
can you use debt transferred from another card to fullfill the 2500 bucks for the additional 50,000?
oh yeah , when does the offer end?
Can you look into the fees please. I’ve heard that the gas tax can be a lot more on British Airways than other airlines. I paid $117. per ticket to use my united miles, but I’ve been warned that it can cost me $400 a ticket on BA. That quickly spoils the fun and advantage of this card. Was sooo excited by the promotion though. If you spend $30K you get another free ticket! That’s a lot of miles and tickets!
Hi Mark,
Yes, it qualifies if you do a balance transfer from another card to this card, according to the card’s terms & conditions. Here’s what it says:
“you must make qualifying transactions totaling $2,500 or more during the first 3 months from account opening. Qualifying transactions include purchases, balance transfers, and any checks that are used to access your account, and exclude cash advances.”
The offer will end on May 6th, 2011, so you’ll only have till Thursday, May 5th 11:59PM EST to grab this offer!
Can husband and wife each apply for a separate card, separate bonus miles etc?
yes u can transfer balances.
I did sign up for this card and taxes to go to barcelona totalled about 400 dollars
Taxes for a trip to kenya were$860. A flight there and back on Turkish airways – a pretty decent airline – including ALL fees and taxes as $840. Judge for yourself, but I am disappointed.
We were so excited to get all those British Air bonus miles for signing up for Chase Visa card. There was even a free companion ticket. So, we spent thousands of dollars and earned enough miles for Business Class trip plus free companion ticket. GUESS WHAT??? We just planned a great trip to Europe and found out that it was almost impossible to get any seats. By being willing to fly out of other cities etc. to catch the BA flight, we finally thought we had a fairly good deal. GUESS WHAT!!! We just called to book and were told that the taxes were $1020 each for our “free business class ticket.”!!!! We are very, very, very angry and have cancelled our five week trip to Europe.
The key to this card is to fly with a partner airline. My roundtrip ticket from Albuquerque, NM to Santiago Chile April 2012 had about $85 in taxes and fees. Adding the annual fee to the trip, it costs about $170 total. It takes some hustling and hassling with the airlines and flight dates, but it is possible to take advantage of this offer. Good luck everyone!
Does anyone know about how often they have this promotion? If they even will do it again..
Can i get rebate/cash cehck instead of using points
and do my charges add to the given 100,000 points if i spend $25,000 than another 10,000 within the first year ?
so i would get a check for $1300.00 instead of using it for flying points
Ivan, I believe you didn’t mention another very useful feature: 10% off any BA ticket purchased through the end of 2012. There is a special promotion code you have to enter, and you have to pay using your BA Chase Visa card. This makes the card totally worth the annual fee.
Yes taxes on BA is very high, it can cost somewhere $400 to $600 which is sucks. Thats why I dont like BA.
