Many of you may not be familiar with Barclays credit cards in the US since they are relatively new entrants to the market here. Launched in the US in 2004, Barclaycard is part of the Barclays Group that traces its roots to the UK, and is one of the most stable financial institutions in the world with a history of more than 300 years. Since Barclaycard came up top 3 in the US credit card satisfaction survey by JD Power in 2011, and offers more than 60 different credit cards in the US, I thought it’s time I do some research on some of its most popular cards, and present to you some of their best offerings in terms of rewards programs as well as long introductory APR promotions.
Almost all Barclays credit cards offer introductory APR on balance transfers and many of them also offer intro APR on purchases, or low ongoing interest rates. It has both MasterCard and Visa cards, and also partners with several airlines such as US Airways, Lufthansa and Frontier Airlines, all of which offer rewards and additional points or miles when you make airline purchases with your card.
Below I’ve come up with a list of the best Barclays credit cards so that you can choose which card appeals to you the most:
