Kenneth Bell, CFA, CFP, MBA is the President of Aspera Financial, LLC. He has 17 years of investment management and financial advisory experience, including research, portfolio management, trading, and asset allocation responsibilities at some of the nation’s leading private asset management firms, mutual fund companies, and insurance companies. Prior to founding Aspera, Ken served as Senior Vice President at Hartford Investment Management Company (HIMCO) in Hartford, Connecticut where he managed the Equity department and was responsible for $4 billion in equity assets. Ken’s portfolio management performance at HIMCO ranked him among the top U.S. mid-cap growth portfolio managers. As an institutional and independent portfolio manager, Ken has consistently posted top-tier performance rankings and developed a reputation for being able to turn around underperforming portfolios. He has also developed a reputation for successfully recognizing and exploiting longer-term trends and avoiding the aftermath of asset bubbles. As an equity analyst, Ken has conducted fundamental research and valuation analysis on hundreds of companies across all sectors and developed an outstanding track record as a stock picker. Ken earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1995 with concentrations in analytical finance and accounting. While at Chicago, he studied under two of the preeminent pioneers of modern portfolio theory: Eugene Fama and Nobel Prize winner Merton Miller. Ken also holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Connecticut, where he graduated at the top of the business school. He is a CFA® charterholder and a CFP® professional. |
