DailyMarkets.com is a consumer finance website founded in 2008 by Pedro Pla and Grace Cheng, a husband-wife duo. Our goal is to help you save smart – daily!
Using our proprietary comparison-application technology and access to financial institutions’ databases, we help you do price comparisons of mortgages, insurance, CD rates, with a special emphasis on educating and helping consumers find the perfect credit cards for their needs.
Rest assured that when you apply for credit cards, mortgages or insurance products through our site, we direct you to the official financial institution’s website so that your information is safe with them. This is our promise.
Our DailyMarkets.com researchers also do the homework for you, scrutinize the fine print, dig out the best money-saving offers, give you our unbiased no-holds barred reviews, unlike many other sites which merely regurgitate marketing materials.
Do give us your support as we, the small people, strive to be the best source to help you save money daily in a world dominated by sites owned by the big guys themselves!
Grace Cheng is co-founder and CEO of DailyMarkets.com, and is responsible for setting the company’s strategy, with her eye for detail. Fresh out of college, trained as a scientist, but clueless about the world at large, she was determined to learn about trading and personal finance, and so embarked on a journey to learn everything from scratch, all by herself. Her personal success as a forex trader and blogger led to her being the author of “7 Winning Strategies For Trading Forex” (2007, Harriman House, UK), and subsequently named as one of the ‘new kids in cyberspace’ by Financial Times.
With an aim to help people better understand the basic financial necessities of life such as credit cards, insurance and mortgage, she set out to revamp her blog from GraceCheng.com to DailyMarkets.com, which has since become an authority on personal finance. From 2007-2008, inspired by veteran investor Jim Rogers’ adventurous drive around the world, she traveled non-stop around the globe to 14 countries, from the US to South America, Europe, Middle East, Africa to Asia, while trading and blogging. She has been featured in the Financial Times, Chicago Sun Times, ABC News, Channel NewsAsia, The Sunday Times, Chicken Soup for the Soul, and many other media. She loves to travel, try out new restaurants, and play with her adorable baby during her free time.
Pedro Pla has been interested in technology since he can remember, and wrote his first Basic program on an APPLE II when he was 8 years old.
At 14 years old, he started web development and created a web based email system. By the age of 19, he was CTO of an international travel company where he developed online travel booking systems.
In 2007 he decided to leave the corporate world behind and travel around the world with his wife Grace, while working on what was to be DailyMarkets.com. While traveling, he saw how much they could save from the research they did online, and it inspired him to work on a site to help everyday consumers save money by reviewing and comparing products.
